URCE 2024
The 6th Undergraduate Research Competition & Exhibition 2024 (6th URCE 2024) is back!
Proudly organized by the Universiti Kuala Lumpur MICET, it serves as an avenue for science, technology, engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) undergraduates to present research and innovation projects at the national level. In addition, this event nurtures participants’ soft skills, particularly effective communication, innovation, and entrepreneurship qualities.
Competition Criteria
Any science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) project related to the competition theme.
General Rules
- Undergraduate students enrolled in the fulfilment of a bachelor or diploma-level program in any institution (public or private) in Malaysia and overseas related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are welcome to participate in the URCE 2024.
- Competition will be carried out through POSTER PRESENTATION.
- Participants are welcome to showcase Products/Prototypes/Models.
- Other university students, academic staff/lecturers, and industrial representatives are invited to the URCE 2024.
- All participants and audiences must complete this form to participate in this program.
Poster Guidelines
1.Format:
- Language for poster and presentation: English

3.Participants are welcome to include related information and/or showcase products/prototypes/models.
4. Please inform the secretariat during online registration if an electrical plug point and table are needed.
Rules & Regulation (For poster presentation)
- Each university/institution can send ANY participation number for this competition.
- No group presentation allowed. Only one person per presentation.
- 10 minutes is allocated for the presentation, and 5 minutes of Q&A. The judge is allowed to ask during the presentation. Exceeding the time limit may impose a mark deduction.
- All presenters are required to wear formal attire during the presentation.
- All poster costs must be covered by the participants. The organiser will not collect the poster.
**These guidelines need to be followed closely. The host has the right to eliminate/annul/disqualify any party violating the above mentioned guidelines. Such actions may be taken by the host without any prior notice to the respective parties.
Evaluation:
- The panel of judges consists of lecturers and industrialists chosen by the organizing committee/technical and are highly qualified individuals who can give fair judgment without taking sides toward any team.
- The evaluation and judging process will be based on consensus.
- The jury’s decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
- Participants will be judged based on their presentation and research content during the competition.
- A copy of the marking criteria will be sent to the participants once registration is confirmed.
Registration:
- Registration for the Undergraduate Research Competition & Exhibition (URCE) 2024 opens on the 10th of June 2024.
- Registration is acceptable via Google Forms UNTIL 16th September 2024.
- Submit your 300-word abstract via google form.
- Payment must be made to confirm your registration.
