Prof. Jesús López Santiago is associated with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He is a member of the research group Edificación, Infraestructura y Proyectos en Ingeniería Rural y Medioambiental (EIPIRMA) and has been involved in various research activities and projects. His work includes contributions to environmental management, environmental projects, and environmental impact assessment. Prof. Santiago has also been involved in teaching, particularly in courses related to environmental management and agro-environmental engineering.

Ir. M Jauhari Hashim is an energy and sustainability professional with cross-functional expertise in plant operations, process engineering, process safety, process design, sustainability, engineering management, and project management, as well as business analytical abilities.
He has a solid engineering background as well as practical industry experience. A Chartered Chemical Engineer (Engineering Council UK) and Professional Engineer (Board of Engineers Malaysia). He specialises in sustainability, carbon capture utilization and storage, process technology, process safety, facilities design, plant operations, engineering management, and project management.

Speaker’s Profile
Ts. Mohd Hafizam bin Mustaffa is a Certified Technologist and a sustainable development expert with over 20 years of experience in green technology and smart city. He is currently the CEO of Melaka Green Technology Corporation, the state’s leading agency in promoting and implementing green initiatives, both locally and internationally.
He started his career as a Research Officer at USM and joined Melaka State Government in 2003. He supported bumiputera SME entrepreneurs with technical, financial and grant assistance through the Melaka SME Service Center in 2006. He became the secretariat of the Melaka Green Technology Council in 2009 and was instrumental in transforming Hang Tuah Jaya Corporation into Melaka Green Technology Corporation in 2013, where he served as the Director of Development.
He developed the Melaka Green Seal Guidelines for green building ratings in 2014 and organised various local green projects, such as the No Plastic Bag Everyday Campaign, the Melaka Biodiesel Program, Solar Projects, Smart Grid and green awareness programme. He also collaborated with international organisations such as ICLEI, UNIDO, ADB, World Bank, and others. He played a key role in the 100 Resilient Cities in Melaka, GEF 6: Malaysian Sustainable Cities Program and the UK Prosperity Fund: Melaka Global Future Cities Program. He hosted the ICLEI’s Asia Pacific International Conference on Resilient Cities in 2016 and the International Conference on Urban Environmental Accords in 2017 in Melaka.
He has been the Chairman of the Melaka Green Awards Assessors and Head of the Melaka Green Awards since 2016. He is also a member of a national expert roster for UNIDO, providing sustainable development expertise to Malaysia since 2021. He is a Subject Matter Expert and Lead Researcher for MIGHT on the Perak Sustainable GreenPrint 2030 development.
In 2021, he joined Melaka State Economic Planning Unit and led the smart city development for the state of Melaka. He published the Smart Melaka Blueprint 2035 and established the SMIC. He organised the Smart Melaka International Conference and Expo 2023 (SMIX 2023)
